The island-hotel Sveti Stefan may finally open its doors to guests on May 1 next year, after five years of abandonment
The island-hotel Sveti Stefan, once the hallmark of Montenegrin tourism, may finally open its doors to guests on May 1 next year, after five years of abandonment. This became possible thanks to the agreement already reached between the government and local authorities on one side, and the lessee, Adriatic Properties and its partners, on the other.
An agreement has been reached to establish a special advisory body that will oversee the fulfillment of obligations related to integrating the local population and developing tourism in Sveti Stefan, including preserving cultural identity, improving economic conditions, and actively involving local residents in the operations of the tourist complex.
This body may be chaired by Novak Djokovic, the greatest tennis player in the history of the sport.
